| History of Camp Hamby |
| Camp Hamby had it's beginnings back in 1968 when Mr. Hugh Hamby gave a small plot of country land to the Methodist churches in Chattooga County, GA. It was Mr. Hamby's wish to give a place where the youth could camp, worship, and have a good time with outdoor activities. What started out as 14 acres has grown into 42 acres due to the hard work and generosity of many people, all with a common goal. Mr. Hamby died in 1986 but his memory lives on in the smiles of hundreds of children each year. |
